A girl in the orchestra?
Coming to London as a student in the 1960s was a very exciting time, as has been documented by many. As a woman in a man's world I can't say that I was filled with a mission to promote women's rights! I just wanted to do what I wanted to do, which had, up to then, been a man's thing. It seems now, looking back that I blazed a bit of a trail, but I was just doing what I loved as best I could and enjoying most of it mightily!
There are many female musicians 'out there' today and it's not just because it is illegal to discriminate against us, but because we have proved ourselves to be as good as the men. I am very glad to have had the chance to be one of the first.

Hello Visitor
Welcome to June's Newsletter.
Sorry to harp (!) on about how many percussion instruments there are, but to prove my point, some time ago I decided to produce a dictionary of instruments. I am sure that others have done this before me, but this is my dictionary with instruments that I have used, found or been given during my career. So, naturally, I think it is the best!
Because it is such a big 'labour of love' I have decided to cheer myself up by producing a mini-version of one item per letter of the alphabet and here is the result.
Cheers
